What food does the Nyjer PestOff 3.0 take?
It's set up for nyjer (thistle) seed, the fine seed that attracts goldfinches and other small finches. Seed is not included.
Is it squirrel proof?
Yes. It uses dual all-metal baffles, an anti-cling ring and spring-loaded ports that close under squirrels, rats and corvids, so only small birds can feed.
How much does it hold?
It holds 2 litres of nyjer seed. The feeder measures 19 × 19 × 54 cm and weighs 0.7 kg.
How is it different from the seed and peanut versions?
It's the same squirrel-proof PestOff 3.0 feeder set up for fine nyjer/thistle seed instead of mixed seed or peanuts.
Where should I hang it?
Hang it at least 45 cm (18 inches) from walls, fences and branches squirrels could leap from, for the best results.
How do I clean it?
It comes apart tool-free for cleaning with warm soapy water and a bottle brush; rinse and air-dry before refilling.

The larger birds give them a go but with the perches closing the feed area up and little spilling on the floor they leave them alone now and use other feeders I have for them and this is very rewarding to see.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear you're having trouble attracting birds. Birds are creatures of habit so we advise customers to keep one of their old feeders in place as part of our set up guide. Sometimes placement and local bird activity can affect visits. The birds take a little time to discover new feeders.
Do you have other busy feeders in your garden?
Please follow steps below - It can take some time for the little birds to build confidence with a new feeder:
Hang both your old feeder and new PestOff feeder next to each other - 1 foot apart.
Fill both feeders with 100% sunflower hearts, the little birds go crazy for these.
Let the old feeder run out (do not refill) and then hopefully the little birds will simply hop onto your new PestOff bird feeder.

This is the second feeder that I've bought, easy to assemble, does the job perfectly.

Arrived well packaged. Assembly for the PestOff bird feeder and starling proof cage was easy with clear instructions.
Also got the Bird butter feeder which was easy to fit, was surprised at the size but not disappointed.
All the items were of good quality, will have to see how they stand up to the winter months otherwise so far pleased with the purchase.

I have a few different feeders from roamwild and they have been great. Always had the blue tits and great tits and other birds but for the first time living here for just over ten year's I had two goldfinches on my feeder and I was over the moon.

We've got two of these - sunflower hearts, and nyjer seeds versions - and highly recommend both, build quality and functionality is exceptional. Both feeders were adopted almost immediately by tits & finches, with the occasional spotted wood pecker, and nuthatch, while pigeons and doves keep the lawn below clear. It's reassuring to watch the crows, parakeets and squirrels raids thwarted.

The feeder is very nicely made but sadly the birds don't like the pestoff plastic guard and won't use it, I removed the guard and they were on it straight away, now all the feed falls on the floor and the pigeons eat it just like my previous feeder.

We decided to try this feeder as we got a lot of pigeons, starlings and magpies throwing food everywhere, bit sceptical due to price, however put it next to a water bowl and had birds on it within a few days (sunflower hearts), also the goldfinches we had tried to attract for years are finally in the garden.

Absolutely brilliant feeder finished in Aurora Blue. The Tits didn't waste any time in feeding straight swap for old feeder. Its stopped the jackdaws but i feed them in another part of garden. Definitely worth it i totally recommend this roam 3.0
